AmDocs SITKA 2025 OCT. 10-12
The community of Sitka is proud and excited to welcome visitors to the first American Documentary Film and Animation Festival in Alaska! (AmDocSITKA). This beautiful coastal town of 8,500 people is located on Baranof Island in Southeast Alaska, the traditional home of the Lingit people for thousands of years. Sitka is the center for the cultural arts in Alaska, hosting many musical and theatrical productions through the Sitka Fine Arts Camp, Sitka Music Festival and the Greater Sitka Arts Council.
AmDocs SITKA is honored to partner with the Sitka Fine Arts Camp in hosting this October weekend festival featuring 20 of the best films recently screened at the 14th Annual American Documentary Film and Animation Festival held in Palm Springs.
The Sitka Performing Arts Center (listed as PAC in the film program) will host Opening Night on Friday evening, Oct. 10. Located at Sitka High School, this state-of-the-art auditorium seats 600. Address: 1000 Lake St., a short distance from downtown.
Saturday and Sunday’s films, on Oct. 11-12, will be screened at the newly renovated Coliseum Theater at 315-319 Lincoln St. in downtown Sitka.
Sitka Public Library, at 320 Harbor Drive, will host a free Filmmaker Forum with our visiting filmmakers on Saturday morning, Oct. 11, at 10:00 a.m.

Weather permitting, a wildlife cruise is planned for Sunday morning, Oct. 12, for filmmakers, locals and visitors, with proceeds to benefit the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. Come on board and look for humpback whales!

Festival tickets will go on sale through Sitka Fine Arts Camp beginning in September www.fineartscamp.org. Old Harbor Books will also sell paper tickets beginning in September. Tickets at the door too.
